May His Memory Be for a Blessing

Bernard Rapoport, an outspoken liberal and a stalwart of Texas Democratic politics, died late Thursday night, April 5th, 2012, in Waco.

He was 94.

Bernard Rapoport left us after spending a lifetime of doing good with his partner and wife, Audre. There was a memorial service in Waco, yet so much of the work that B did centered in and around Washington, D.C. It seems only fitting to commemorate B's life here as well.

We invite all of B's friends to join us at his memorial service on Tuesday, May 15, 2012, at 5:00 p.m. at The St. Regis Hotel, 923 16th Street NW, (16th and K Streets) [map]. B's long-time friend, President Bill Clinton, will give a eulogy.

We hope everyone who knew and loved this great man will join in reflecting on his life and legacy. Please feel free to share this notice with others who would like to join us in celebrating B's life since it would be impossible for us to remember all of his friends and the lives he touched. Kindly RSVP to RememberingBRapoport@gmail.com or contact Patsy Thomasson at 202.467.4141 if you have any questions.
